The Peaceful Valley Lodge cabin is situated on 2 acres on
the side of a steep, tree covered slope. There are no other
cabins visible from the cabin, just mountains, water, trees
and blue sky. The design uses a unique round exterior that
requires no center support within the building. The exterior
is solid wood cedar siding with six huge picture windows that
slide open to let the fresh mountain air in. The first floor
doors enters into the den where you will find the ski storage
and two "bunk rooms" for the kids and couples. A
spiral oak stairway leads from the lower recreation area to
the upper level living area. An exterior stairway leads to
the deck and upper floor entry way and to the main living
area and master bedroom suite.

As you enter the upper floor, you are welcomed into the bright
and spacious main living area that includes the living room,
dining room, kitchen and breakfast bar. The vaulted ceiling
and six large picture windows ensure you a feeling of light
and openness. The massive, 3-recliner Lazy-Boy sectional couch
wraps around a wood burning stove and all six seats provide
tree and mountain views.

No, that is not a picture on the wall next to the dining
room table. That is the view of 14,000+ foot Mount Lincoln
that you will enjoy as you eat your own home cooked meals
that you prepare in the cabin's gourmet kitchen. Imaging waking
up to bacon, eggs and the sun rising on that gorgeous mountain
everyday! The table expands large enough to accommodate 10
people, perfect for dining or playing games.

From the Lazy-Boy recliner in the living room
you can stretch out and gaze upon the beauty of Colorado's spectacular
scenery. The view is awesome in both the summer and winter,
and no matter what season you will love the feeling of peace
and relaxation that will fill you when surrounded by the magnificence
of nature. Warning: the Lazy-Boy can be very difficult
to escape from, especially in the evening when the wood burning
stove has lulled you into a complete state of total relaxation.

The kitchen is extra large to handle the usual flow of people
filling coffee, getting snacks and pouring beverages. The
cabinets are fully stocked with wares for cooking and place-settings
for 10 for dining. Included is a large crockpot so dinner
will be waiting for you when you return from your mountain
adventures. We stock the kitchen with basic staples such as
coffee, salt, sugar and some condiments.

You will rest in comfort in the king-sized bed
located in the master bedroom. There is pleny of room to settle
in with a full dresser and a walk-in closet. The private bath
has a full tub/shower and a separate vanity/dressing area. The
master overlooks the forest where you will be amazed at how
quiet and dark the night becomes.
|
Each of the two bedrooms on the first floor has a combination
bunk bed and futon sofa. The futon folds flat into a double
bed. To minimize contention for the bathroom, each bedroom
has its own sink, running water, mirror and vanity area. There
is a shared bathroom with shower between the two bedrooms.
The futon mattresses are the highest quality available to
ensure a restful nights sleep.
