Farmers Markets Provide Culinary Delights for your Breckenridge Weekend Getaway!
Once you’ve seen all the major attractions in Breckenridge Colorado and experienced the range of summer activities on Copper Mountain, you may have worked up a healthy appetite. If you are staying in our Colorado cabin vacation home, then why not cook up a sensational dinner for the whole family?
Start by visiting one of two popular outdoor farmers’ markets in the Breckenridge, CO area. On Fridays between 9am and 2pm, the nearby Dillon Farmers’ Market is the place to be for all the freshest foods from Colorado growers; plus, specialty foods, cheeses, breads and home-made desserts. If you have some extra time, why not bring the whole family to this open-air market by Dillion Lake, just north of Breckenridge? Over 90 vendors selling produce, gourmet items, jewelry and textiles make this one of the best farmers’ markets in the Summit County Colorado mountains! Look for this market every Friday on Buffalo Street by Town Park, between LaBonte Street and Lake Dillon Drive.
If your mountain getaway brings you to Breckenridge on a Sunday, swing by Main Street Station between June and September for a terrific selection of fresh and tasty treats. Flowers, breads, nuts, cheeses and freshly grown produce are just a few of the delights that wait at the Breckenridge Main Street Station Farmers’ Market, between 9am and 1pm.
Just in case you don’t find the perfect dessert at these fabulous farmers’ markets, then a stop at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Breckenridge may be in order. The “factory” typically produces 300 different candies and confectionaries, using only the recipes developed by its master candy maker. Choose from a wide variety of caramels, truffles, molded chocolates, clusters, and more. Kids love watching them make delicious fudge, caramels and candy apples in full view, using traditional copper kettles, gas fired stoves and marble slab cooling tables.
There is something so special about shopping for the freshest ingredients at a farmers’ market, picking up some special treats, and heading back to the Peaceful Valley Lodge to make a spectacular Colorado cabin cooked meal. Whether you are visiting Breckenridge for a romantic Colorado mountain getaway or a family vacation in the mountains, spending time relaxing in a cozy cabin is always an enjoyable break from the ordinary.

Testimonials
I will never forget the comments made by my daughter-in-law and her mom as we were driving up the county road 4. They told me later that they wondered where in the world we were going. They were not sure what kind of place we would be staying in. They were looking at all the different homes along the way and their thoughts were racing. Where were we taking them? Read more.
