Cabin Rentals in Colorado – A Much Smarter Option for Your Family Vacation

cabin rentals coloradoAs an avid Rocky Mountain skier, I am often asked whether cabin rentals in Colorado are really the best way to see this beautiful state.  Some travelers feel that by renting a cabin they might be missing out on the resort atmosphere at places like Aspen, Vail and Breckenridge, but what they don’t realize is that most of the amenities at the resorts are never even used.

Colorado vacations are usually spent on the slopes, trails, rivers and streams, not in the hotel pool.  And “roughing it” isn’t exactly how I would describe most rental cabins in Colorado.  Most offer spectacular views, cozy fireplaces, comfortable furnishings and fully equipped kitchens, as well as Jacuzzi tubs, nearby trails, and easy access to a nearby Colorado resort town.

Many people dream about taking the whole family to one of Colorado’s pristine mountain resorts, only to have their hopes dashed when they find out how much it will cost.  By and large, cabin rentals in Colorado are a lot more affordable than most of the tiny hotel rooms available in resort areas.  When you have a large family, it is much more enjoyable to spread out and linger in a comfortable living area than it is to sit on the edge of the bed at your hotel room.

No Colorado mountain getaway would be complete without great food, especially after spending the day doing outdoor activities.  While the resort areas have some of the best dining spots to be found anywhere, most families find that they enjoy the flexibility that rental cabins in Colorado offer in terms of dining.  Having a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal during your Colorado vacation means it is possible to visit a farmers market and cook up a gourmet meal with the help of the whole family.  Not only is this a much less expensive option than eating out every night, but preparing a gourmet meal together is a great way to create lasting family memories.

Some of the best cabins for rent in Colorado are located in the Breckenridge area, which is right in the heart of Summit County, Colorado.  Breckenridge is more than just a skier’s paradise; it is also an excellent spot for almost every other outdoor activity.  Why not check out the Breckenridge area for some of the coziest cabins for rent in Colorado

Thanks for the use of your mountain home. It was very comfortable and well furnished. Enjoyed the view and the strolls around the neighborhood. We will remember this weekend here as our daughter told us we were going to be grandparents!
